Aura is how Hyundai decided to react to the BS6 age of automobiles in the subcontinent. This sub-four metre sedan which was unveiled in December 2019 can be prebooked for Rs. 10,000 and has a tentative release date of Jan 2020.
With a new engine option, this Nios-based car has more interior and exterior options for its customers. It also comes with an integrated 8-in infotainment screen with preinstalled Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with an app-based remote control. It has Nios-like cascading grille, projector LED headlamps. Even if the interior options are not yet revealed, it is expected that the interior will be similar to the Nios with a premium kit.
Coming to the power unit, it comes with BS6 compliant 1.2L Kappa MPI Petrol, 1.0L T-GDI petrol and 1.2L Ecotorq Diesel. These efficient engines are mated with 5-speed transmission gearbox although an AMT option is also provided. It has a total of 12 variants and comes with 6 exciting colours.
With a starting price of Rs. 6.0 lakhs, the South Korean manufacturer targets the majority of the customers in Indian car market post BS6. With additional features like automatic climate control and Arkamys music system, Hyundai is also likely to provide it with Blue Link connectivity.
Aura is prepping itself to go head-on against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Tigor, Ford Aspire and the Honda Amaze.
