Unveiled on 16 December 2021, the Kia Carens is expected to make its debut in India in the first half of 2022. The interior has a multi-layered dashboard with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, aircon vents right below a multimedia system, and more. The car also features five-spoke alloy wheels, roof rails, split LED tail lamps, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, and a roof-mounted spoiler.
The Kia Carens will come with two petrol engines and a diesel unit. The petrol engines include a 1.5-litre NA unit pumping 115hp and 144Nm, and a 1.4-litre turbocharged unit putting out 140hp and 242Nm. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre diesel engine unit develops 115hp and 250Nm. It is expected to be offered in both automatic and manual transmissions like the Seltos.
On the safety front, the Carens is loaded with six airbags, disc brakes at all four wheels, hill-start assist, TPMS, ABS, ESC, and rear parking sensors as standard across all variants.
It will stand in competition against the likes of Hyundai Alcazar and other three-row vehicles in this range.
