Mahindra has delivered the first 14,000 units of the XUV700 and announced that cumulative bookings for the SUV are very close to the 1,00,000 mark. With an unrivaled demand and the ongoing chip shortage, waiting periods of the SUV have skyrocketed, extending to almost two years in selective cases. Looking at the figures, about 86,000 customers are yet to receive the keys to their XUV700s.
The top-notch AX7 Luxury trim currently has a waiting period of around 84 weeks. Trims such as the AX3, AX5, and AX7 have a minimum wait time of eight months. Even the entry-level MX trim has a lead time of at least 7 months.
For those of you who wish to know more about the SUV, it can be had either as a 5-seater or a 7-seater. Talking about the powertrain, it is powered by either 2.0-liter petrol or a 2.2-liter diesel mill, presenting the option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Currently, the XUV700 ranges between Rs 12.96 lakh to 23.80 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
