With a massive acceleration to 100 Km/h in just 9.9 seconds auto major, Tata Motors has Enfield is the first electric SUV called Nexon EV on Thursday. This is planned to be launched commercially within the next weeks and it has already built on one of the most popular SUVs of the nation known as SUV Nexon. It also has posted a range of 300 kilometers per full charge.
The officials without revealing the price or the other features have stated that the booking for the car will be starting this Friday.
Although the company hasn't given an official number, they have started speculating that it will be around 20% more than the AMT variant of Nexon and is estimated to come between Rs. 15 to 17 lakhs as it will be launched within weeks.
Including tow-over and intrusion alert, the new SUV Nexon EV comes with as many as 35 new connected features. It will come in 3 variants and offers 8-year or 160000 kilometers warranty on the battery and motor which is the maximum in the automotive industry in India today.
The Nexon is the first EV by Tata Motors which is coming with the Ziptron technology. This is a high performance, vehicle technology that is well suited to address the aspirations of customers and break all barriers for EV adoption, Tata Motors CEO and MD Guenter Butschek said while unveiling the EV.
While the unveiling of the new SUV Nexon EV, Tata Motors CEO and MD said that this is the first of its kind which comes with Ziptron technology. This technology is a very high performance connected vehicle technology that is well suited to address the needs and desires of customers and will break all the barriers for EV technology that is currently in India.
Shailesh Chandra, president of the electric mobility unit at Tata Motors, said the battery takes only 10 minutes to charge to 80% under fast charging mode which makes it very easy to use for the faster generation. It has also been claimed that it can be charged fully within 40 minutes.
The battery, which can also be charged with a 15-ampere plug-point can and will give a range of over 300 km.
