In the view of the rise of a pandemic, the Hon'ble Prime Minister had announced the lockdown for 21days starting from 25th March to 14 April 2020 as part of that to ease the emergency services Nitin Gadkari Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India as advised the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to temporarily suspend the toll collections at all toll plazas to ease the emergency services that are most needed for the people of the nation till the lockdown end i.e. till 14th April. The mister also advised the heads of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to help the migrant workers who are reaching the Toll Plaza with food and water that are essential for them to continue the Journey. The Minister has also said that the toll suspension is complete to ease emergency services such as vehicles containing Essential Goods, Medical Equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Kits. The toll plazas will now continue to help the people who are reaching there as part of there journey towards there natives most probably the reach would be Migrant works who are headed towards there Natives from Cities who came to earn their lively hood.
The government has been taking the decisions faster to bring the situation under control and problems that are arising during the spread of the pandemic. Even the Finance Ministry also announced Rs. 1.7 lakh corers packages to fill the Economic Gap.
