Toyota Kirloskar India has announced the launch of Fortuner facelift a while ago. The facelift version testing images have surfaced online and we managed to notice the updates in the variant. However, only minor cosmetic updates and some exterior changes are visible.
Toyota Fortuner launched in 2016 in India faces the likes of Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4, Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, Isuzu MUX, and Skoda Kodiaq. The facelift version is about to launch in India to play fair in the field with the rivals.
In the front end, it features new grille design, updated front end design to bring it up to date with modern design and trends. Smaller grille, bugger air dam and sharper LED lamps to enhance the lighting and sportier bumper. In the rear end, it gets an updated tail lamp, an all-new rear bumper and a new set of alloy wheels too. Sources suggest that the rear end may get minor cosmetic updates that are yet to be revealed. Besides, the details regarding the interior are unknown as of now. However, the Facelift is most likely to receive updated upholstery and cabin layout with a new touch screen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In terms of a powertrain platform in India, it may be offered in two options-2.7L Petrol engine and 2.8L Diesel engine both BS6-compliant. Globally, it will be offered with multiple engine options- 2.7L and 4.0L in a petrol engine, 2.4L, 2.8L and 3.0L in a diesel engine.
The facelift version will first debut in Thailand in the mid-2020 and we may get that by end of 2020 in India. But before that, the limited edition Fortuner is all set for launch with a 360-degree parking camera and much more. Currently, Fortuner is offered in the price segment of Rs.28.18 Lakh and Rs.33.95 Lakh. So, the Facelift version could be Rs.1 Lakh premium than the current-gen Fortuner.
